The Nature of Sin

The Nature of Sin
SIN, The Plague of Plagues, was first published in 1669, four years after the Great Plague of London. The author, Ralph Venning, wrote: "As to the sinfulness of sin, I have indeed handled it most fully, as it is against man's good and happiness." Section 2 therein presents the formidable exposition, The Sinfulness of Sin. It is available online at: http://www.gospeltruth.net/sos/sos_sinfulnessofsin.htm
My idea of the sinfulness of sin includes the following:
 Just read Dear Amy, Dear Abby, Annie’s Mailbox, Dear Carolyn, or sometimes Miss Manners
 He honks as soon as the stop light changes
 She is LOUDLY on the cell phone at the table next to mine
 Gossip and name calling
 We all know about the 10 Commandments…then ignore them
 The deniers and escape artists (politicians) from Fox 2 News’ Elliott Davis on “You Paid For It”
 Many, many advertisers
 He, or she, breaks into the waiting line
 Mortgaging the future of my children, even unto the 3rd and 4th generations
 Marriage, divorce; re-marriage, divorce; re-re-marriage, divorce; …and … and …
 Hating Israel
 Our high school basketball team had a girl expelled for fighting on court in a game.
 Wickedness in high places
 Sexting
 The person who parks on or over the line in the parking lot without concern or caring, maybe smoking
 Overcharging in the store
 Leaving a tract, but no tip, in the restaurant
 Losing something, but blaming someone else
 Complaining about why this happens to me
 Hollywood
 Obamacare
 Lust for power
 The US tax code
 Driving on bald tires
 “Sins that we tolerate”. There are several of these that we want to briefly mention:
Ungodliness; Anxiety and Frustration; Discontentment; Unthankfulness; Pride; Moral Self-righteousness; Correct Doctrine; Pride of Achievement; An Independent Spirit; Selfishness; Lack of Self Control; Impatience and Irritability; Anger; Judgmentalism; Envy, Jealousy, and Related Sins; Sins of the Tongue; Worldliness
 Freedom that kills is Unrestrained sex…where will it land us?
 Christianity is now unwelcome in the halls of academia
 Environmentalism as a religion
 “Social justice” in the minds of the radical left
 Killing a million babies in our country every year
